This is an interview I did with the very talented power metal band, Boanerges.
Victory:Hi how are you? Sadly I think there aren't many metalheads out there that have knowledge about you, could you please tell me shortly about yourselves and the band's history. Boanerges:The idea of starting a metal band was concieved early 1990, when Gustavo Rodriguez (guitar), his brother Marcelo (bass) and Marcelo's wife, Gabriela (voice) started looking for other members for the band. The first to join them was Alberto Sabbatini (drums), with whom rehearsals started; and just afterwards Hernan Fortuna (Guitar) joined the band. Now the band was complete, and they started their performances by the end of 1990. Victory:Have you released any CD's, if you have, where can you get it? Boanerges:Yes, we've released an independent CD, called "Senales antes del Fin" (Signales before the end of the Age). You can get it through diffrent distro companies around the world or making an order by sending us an email. boanergesrecords@logos.org.ar Victory:For those who's never heard you before, how should you describe your sound? Boanerges:We are a christian power metal band. As musicians we are influenced by bands such as Stryper, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Metallica, Stratovarius and Whitecross. But we are permantly looking for a style to identify us in, in spite of the fact that we are aware that it's hard to be innovative within this genre. Victory:Which are your future plans with the band? Boanerges:Nowadays we're looking for another member, because Hernan (guitar) has left the band. We are composing new songs and we plan to record our next CD next year and maybe we will make one or two songs in English, because the repercussions that "Senates antes del" had in countries where Spanish is not spoken. Victory:Is Jesus important for you in the band? Boanerges:Jesus is everything for us in the band. We play for Jesus. We live for Jesus. Without Him Boanerges wouldn't exist. Victory:Do you have any dreams with your band, if you were free to choose, what would you then choose? Boanerges:To play our music and tell about Jesus all the time. That's our dream.
