Babylon Mystery Orchestra - On earth as it is in Heaven
This is the second album by the American band Babylon Mystery Orchestra. Many of you probably don't know BMO so a short introduction could be providing. BMO combines heavy, classical, gothic and doom metal in a rather unusual way. Honestly, I've never heard any other band sounding like them.(Allthough I think the singer Sidney Allen Johnson, who also does everything else, sounds a bit like Alice Cooper)
Musically we have heavy guitars and even more heavy guitars! Keyboard and other symphonic addons help to create a dark atmosphere, which suits the music very well.
As I've also own their first album, "Divine Right of Kings", I can say that they've improved a lot since then. The sound is clearer and the production is top notch. And note that I'm not saying that their previous album was crap, this is just a lot more mature release from the mastermind Sidney.
As the previous album's lyrics was an apocalyptic experience we now travell some thousends years back in time and we get the story how Angels used the music to decieve man and drive them away from God. Very interesting stuff indeed.
As said, this is a much better release from Sidney. If you want a strange(please don't compare the word strange with bad!) and at the same time enjoying musical experience I strongly recommend you checking out Babylon Mystery Orchestra, they deserve your attention!
