Veni Domine - IIII - The album of labour
Finally! After years of silence we finally get the new album from the masters of the undescribable genre!
They call themselves Veni Domine and for over 10 years they've been releasing quality albums. Due to some conflicts with their former label this album was delayed some years - but now we finally have it and we can happily announce that Veni Domine hasn't lost their touch in creating good metal albums!
The sound is dark and atmospheric. Combine it with Fredrik's unique vocals(some say that he's a copycat of Geoff Tate, but there I disagree!) and you know you'll receive some excellent stuff. The only thing that might disturbe people is that the music isn't very easy to listen to. It takes a couple of spins before you'll understand the true greatness of the album. But I can assure you, it's worth it!
The only thing that I think this album is lacking is a top hit, such as "Wisdom Call" or "Material Sanctuary". Now every song seem to stand in one group, but since that group is named "Very good songs", we don't really care, do we?
Probably not as sharp as their first two albums - this is still one of the brighter lights to shine up our metal year 2004.
