Wedding Party - Anthems

I received a mail where the author mentioned that we were yet to review Wedding Party's album "Anthems", telling of its greatness and so on. Then I remembered that I actually owned this album and that it deserved to be talked of.

Wedding Party could be called a simplified version of Saviour Machine. Saviour Machine, since it's gothic metal with an atmospheric edge to it and Simplified because it doesn't take 20 listens to get in to the album.

The album gives items of various qualities to us. In many of the songs we find truly greatness ("War memorial", "Crystal River" and "Bury the dead" are all of the highest quality) but on the other hand we get some songs which we also could mention as "Disrupting noises" and that of course makes the excitement of the disc a bit lower.

But the three mentioned songs are all so good that I would say that it is a worthwhile investment to get the disc anyway, only thanks to them.

Trivia: At Bobfest 2004 I actually met the guys behind Wedding Party and they told me that they were about doing a new album (under a different band name) which would be nine times better than this!
