Veni Domine - IIII - The album of labour
This is the album that became known as the album that really was the album of labour, as it took Veni Domine six years to get it out to the crowds.
Well, Veni Domine has still not become one of my favourite bands, but I still enjoy their releases immensely. What I like the most about Veni Domine is the small and wonderful pieces of weird elements that you can find in their songs, and on IIII: The Album Of Labour they seem to have increased from previous releases.
I like the feeling that this release gives me more than the feeling their older albums gave. They have added a lot of different elements, making the music a bit more complex and hard to get into, but in my case it also makes the music more enjoyable as well. The blues influences and the spacey ambient sound worlds that can be found in small portions are just the small things that make me appreciate this album. I also felt like it was easier to get along with the vocals on this release. The overall feeling on this album is just somehow more gloomy and nice.
They still have all the old bits and pieces from their past in their sound, and I still love the acoustic parts that sends a shiver through my whole body when hearing them. This album just leaves a good taste after listening to it.
