Norma Jean - Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child

Norma Jean and Living Sacrifice were one of the first metalcore bands that I found in the amazing world of the internet, and thanks to them, the style has found an eternal place in my heart. And the thing that really draws me to Norma Jean and makes the band stand out from the rest of the metalcore world is the scary atmosphere in their music. First of all I was freaked out by the cover of the album (the kid looks creepy and I hate stories or movies with child ghosts), and the music brings the audience a sound and a touch of atmosphere that suits the cover.

And Norma Jean is also a band that likes to play in various different ways and sounds, so the progressivity is a noticeable thing here. Norma Jean is brutal, atmospheric and melancholic, and like many other bands alike, they really paint sad and dark landscapes with their music. With this album Norma Jean really stood up in the world of metalcore.
