This have to be
one of the most legendary christian black-metal albums!
I remember when I, a couple of months ago, went in to a
huge secular underground music store and found this CD.
I almost jumped into the sky of joy, beucase I had
heard so many great words for this CD (and actually
listened to a couple of tracks too) so I couldn't get
dissapointed, so I bought the CD and went home and put
it straight in to my CD-player, and the result?
The best atmospheric-black metal I've ever heard!!!
The music is so professional that many secualar bands
should be in shame if they would ever hear them.
It is quite hard to see that this is a christian album,
I remember when I showed it to my sister and cousin and
afterwards having to prove that it Really is a christian
album! :-) Just look at the cover, it's kind of scary,
isn't it? And if you look in the booklet things don't
get less scarier, because they're using corpsepaint and
other stuff. But what is most important is that they're
just doing it for one reason and it is to serve our great
LORD!!!! Now on to the songs. First we're getting a shrilling intro that makes you feel cold! Afterwards comes one of my favorite songs "A sovereign Fortress" It is a very atmospheric track and it is superbly performed one too! Other highlight are "Sorg", "The bridge of death" and "Gamlelandet". Most of the songs are sung on norwegian so it can be quite hard to understand it sometimes :) And you won't find all lyrics in the booklet either, that is because they want that so many as possible could get this album and got saved! Surely one of the best albums ever produced, now I just wait to get their other work, Martyrium, that in a short time will be released by Endtime Productions! |
