What to say? By God is without any doubt one of the best CDs in the rapcore-genre ever.
Or, I dont't really know if this is what you really could call rapcore. It's more like
groovy metal with great rapcore influences. These guys have managed to make an album with 19(!) tracks and you wan't get bored, I promise you! That says the most about it. It kicks off from the beginning with songs like "By God", "God of Elijah" and "Coal" and then it goes on with masterpieces like "Can't breathe", "You are here" and "Thousand things". The production is clean but you could still believe that it's a live recording - it's heavy! The music really rocks but there is one thing that makes this band even more special... Disciple is a real ministryband that only does this for one single reason: to preach the gospel and see people turn to God. The lyrics are right in your face and they are really Christ-centered. Awesome! I was happy to have the oppurtunity to see these guys live at Solid Rock Festival 2001 and you should surely check them out if they're coming to a venue near you! |
