Strange...cool...weird...progressive...insane...without melody...black...limited to 850x. This is Drottnars EP in a
nutshell. But first of all I have to say that the CD cover looks very cool...it's black. Very black. It's black paper
wrapped around the black CD cover with black print on black paper with a black CD inside. To the music: The Norwegian blackmetallers now play a quite different type of black, not symphonic at all, not harmonic at all. Here and there they have a tortured violin, playing something strange. The first song, Morphosis, is a progressive intro-song with some whispers. It's odd enough to be cool. The three other songs are strange, to use one word. It's brutal and technical, but the lack of harmony and coherence makes it hard to really get into. Some of you might like it, but it doesn't please my ears much. |
