Christian metal is growing fast and new bands are popping up everywhere.
From the deep forest of Finland From Ashes can be found. This is a
somewhat odd band, plying symphonic blackmetal, with a celloist in the
band!
This is their three-song-demo and it sounds promising, very symphonic with
fast kickdrums. I have some small things to complain about, though. First
of all, and the thing that bothers me most, is that the singer sounds
quite strange, as he's using some kind of throat-sound...change that to
the normal blackmetalscreaming and this will be a fine metal piece.
Secondly, the guitar is mainly a rhytmguitar and a lead guitar could be
added to make this really good. Nevertheless this is a good demo and the
cello is extremly cool and really lifts the whole thing!
