Oratorio - The reality of existance
|
When I bought The Metal Rose Collection one of the few good songs was
Shine The Light by Oratorio. So when I saw that Oratorio had released a CD
and heard some sondclips I knew about what to expect.
And I'm not disappointed because this really is headbanging-stuff!
My favourite, the first song, Chain Of Pain tells what follows...fast
kickdrums and a lot of melody. Most songs are fast but the song
Taivallinen Jerusalem (Heavenly Jerusalem) is a nice symphonic ballad that
really rock (though it is in Finnish). The singer is not a normal
high-pitch singer but a bit different with a more raspy voice and some
growls here and there, and it works just fine. The only thing I can
complain about is the guitars that could dampen the strings more often to
add some bite, but it's just a small thing.
This is one of the highlights of 2003 and it's hard not to headbang while
having this CD in your player!
