Those of you who don't know who Ole Børud is, raise your hand! Not that
many, I guess. He is one of the masterminds behind Extol, and is truly a
musical genious. Schaliach is a sideproject with Ole and a guy named Peter
Dalbakk. Mr Børud played everything (except piano and synth) on this CD
and Mr Dalbakk put some growling vocals on top of it all. The result is a
nice brutal piece of deathmetal. One of the things that amazes me the most
is that Ole played the drums here, and it's far better than how normal
guitarists play! Real good doublekicking here and great lyrics too! The
only things I would like to change is the production, especially the
guitar sound, and speed some songs up a bit. Despite that, this is a very
good album that deathmetalheads out there definitely should get! |
