If you don't know that Burial(their debut) is the best progressive death/black album ever released you should be ashamed and go and but it at once(
buy two). And undecieved was another smashing hit but not near as good as the debut. So Extol has always succeeded to deliever the stuff. Now they are
signed by Centurymedia and their chances to conquer the metal world has risen by 10^12 times. At the same time they have the pressure to do so, unless
they will remain unnoticed.
With these high demands they release Synergy. A crunchy unexpected thrashy progressive metal piece.
Now you shall continue reading this review by choosing one of the following alternatives: What kind of fans of extol are you? 1.Extol shall be black and death,
they are that and must remain that! 2:I am a fan of extol but I am also open for changes.
1.Oh man! Extol has gone bad!! Sad but true, they have left all of their good black/death behind them and started to play some crappy thrash. Where is the power, where is extol?! *crying*
2. What a pleasant surprise! Extol has experimented once again and succeeded again. They have developed a new style with a more thrash sound in both music and vocals. This band will smash the
metal world, that's for sure. From the first not until the last, this is how a thrash album should sound like. OH! Go and get this, you cannot consider yourself as a metal head without owning this!
As you see, this is an album which will divide the fans. Some will be angry about them changing their style while others will be happy with their new fresh sound. I am quite divided, I think
this is, with the far best production they ever have had, a pretty good one but it is far away from their best moments, which are located on their debut. But this album is still better than about 95% of all other albums you find on the market.
