Where can I
get the CD?

Harmony - Dreaming Awake

Harmony is a new refreshing metal band, hailing from Sweden. They are playing atmospheric melodic metal and I have to admit that I am most positivly surprised of the quality of it.

You may thinking that you have had enough of melodic metal the past years, and yes, there have been too many bands trying to impress the world without success with the result that the genre has been the target of disgusting comments during the last years.

But where others have failed I see that Harmony brings something new and fresh to the hungry melodic metal souls out there. They smoothly avoid the wellknown trap named "a verse, chorus, verse, chorus, guitarsolo and 2xchorus(the last chorus being higher)", which has trapped about 95% of the melodic metal bands. I have nothing personal against those kind of songs(Ok, perhaps a bit) but they tend to be more than boring and too repetive to please my ears.

Therefor I enjoy listening to Harmony, for they have managed to create interesting (spare a few) songs and they tend to differ from most of the others bands' songs. I especially like the atmospheric parts in the songs(i.e.Without you) which with success deliever an extra edge to the music.

The singer reminds a bit of Lance King(Ex Balance of Power) and his voice fits perfectly in to music, he really can síng with emotion. Perhaps he could add some aggressivness to it, but as it's right now it's good enough to please me.

From a musically point of view I hear Narnia's Long live the king era (more atmospheric though), add some Balance of Power and a little bit of Helloween (early), then you get Harmony. Excellent shreddings combined with some staggering keyboard efforts, ah, what more could you demand? Of couse a little more orginality wouldn't be wrong, but we have to remember that this is their debut.

The production is also in need to be mentioned, because this is near top notch stuff, not perfect but not far away. I am really surprised that they managed to get it this good.

I really recommend you to check out these guys, because I see a new star shining in the metal sky, and its name is Harmony.
