Epic symphonic melodic progressive metal!
Just that word made me anxious about this band, when I read it at their official
homepage. Then I downloaded some clips from their homepage and some seconds
after that I ordered their CD - Land of flames.
And when I recieved it - just one week later - I realized that it was worth
those 30$ I had to spent to get it.
The first major thing you will realize, while listening to this CD, is that they
have a superb high-pitched singer which reminds me alot of Michael Kiske.
Then after some more minutes of great pleasure you will realize that Trond Are
is a musical genious!
He has made most of the music, and I have to say that I haven't heard such
enjoyable progressive metal in a very long time.
So what about the songs? Well you cannot say tha they're too short.... thet
vart from 4-14mins, and the CD has a whopping clocking time of 67mins!
And it never gets boring, that is one thing that many progressive bands have
problems with, but Sea of Dreams has somewhat succeded to avoid that, many
thanks to them for that!!
If you're somewhat wise you would by this time have realized that there aren't
a single band track on this extra ordernary CD.
The whole disc is a fantastic experience, even though I cannot understand
those jazz-influenced that is located on my favorite track, Illusions. :-)
This is another disc you cannot afford to miss if you're into progressive metal.
They have succeced to create something special in their genre, and one thing
that I cannot understand is HOW ON EARTH CANNOT THESE GUYS HAVE A CONTRACT??
I have heard many, many bands that are about a thousand times worse than Sea of
Dreams that have a contract... what are you doing Metalblade and Nuclearblast??
Buy, buy, buy!!!!!
