Magnitude 9 - Reality in focus
|
2001 seems to be a great year for progressive metal. Already several great
releases have seen the daylight and more are on the way. Magnitude 9 is one
example of a band making 2001 to a great year for prog. fans. M9 is the
brainchild of Rob Johnson, the guitarist. Some peope claim that he is a too
boring guitarist, but I like his neoclassical guitar style. The singer is a
good highpitcher, actually one of the better of the scene, a very good
progressive singer.
Well, over to the CD RiF, it is a very cool CD, with a clocking time over 60mins,
and it contains many great songs. The first one, No turning back, is a fast going
song which I like a lot. Well, actually I like almost every song on this disc,
they are all done professionally and with intelligent lyrics. It does not take
long time before you'll notice that these guys has "been there, done that and
seen it", IMO they are no newbies.
And by the way, Rob is a very nice characther, he has a great attitude!
