Global Warning - Digital Black

Digital Black is a great record, first it reminded me greatly of Godsmack but as I proceeded along the track list I heard that they were strongly influenced by late 80s and 90s heavy metal sound, bands like Judas Priest (after R. Halford that is.) and Cathedral popped up in my mind. When finding out more about the band I got the explanation, Digital Black is Global Warnings second album and their sound has changed a lot from their first album, which indeed sounded like 80.s metal. In the end I came to the conclusion that Global Warning has a truly unique sound, in their own way that is. And to all those who complains about there being too little guitar in today.s metal, here be guitars take heed.

The band consists of the quartet Steve Carlson (Bass), Brian Tomer (Guitar), Alan Boyd (VOX) and Rich Weaver (Drums). The production of the record is great, and to no surprise at all when the band has been working with Paul Speer who has recorded with Queensryche.

Digital Black is a record that I recommend you get acquainted with, there are no really legendary songs on it.s track list, but there is, in my opinion, not a single bad one, they are all good. Songs like Follow Me hearing Alan Boyd screaming .There is nothing new under the sun. is priceless and the great beginning of Disconnect just makes it all worth it. It is a quality record which brings me back, and I say; me like!
