Random Eyes - Live 21/06/2003

How do you define a good live band? It's one thing to be good in the studio but it's a totally different story to be good live, actually there are not that many good live bands that succeeds to bring the audience the energy that's needed to satiesfy them.

Random eyes is a Finnish band (containing members of Hallowed which worried Victory because they were more than boring when he saw them a couple of years ago, reminding more of visiting a mummy museum than a concert) playing good old heavy metal with a modern touch. And from the first second the audience (which was more than lousy) knew that this was more than an usually show, they were tight, had charisma and were playing with a lot of energy. You could easily see that the guys (and a girl) really enjoyed being on stage, they had all throughout their set smiles on their faces.

How about the music then? Well perhaps a short introduction:Beside the usual stuff; They have three(!) guitarists and two singers. One male and one female, both being extremely talent. I have tried to compare the male singer to other singers but that's quite difficult because he has an unique voice, it though reminds a(tiny) bit of (new) Amorphis'singer. He is very good and takes both high and low notes pretty well.

The whole band worked very well together and delieverd us a very tight set. The drummer was a monstermachine, very fast and tight. It's a shame that the crowd (woops, that's me) did not reward them with more activity because theyt did deserve it!

Afterwards I, Emissary and Ergonymous had a conversation what we thought about the gig and this were some of the opinions:
Victory:Tight and good set, but I missed some fast and furious guitarsolos!
Ergonymous:This was in my taste, I don't like those fast guitarsolos, so they performed a satiesfying gig.
Emissary: i share Victory's opinion there and more doublebass kicking please!

As you can see we were all quite happy with their performance and I personally believe that this band will be huge! (that's why I got my CD signed so I can sell it on Ebay for 50$ in a couple of years!)
Style: Technical heavy metal
Hot shots: Tomorrow will come, Little angel, Tears and Hero
