Where can I
get the CD?

Rob Rock - Eyes of eternity

For me this was the most anticipated disc to be released this year. I have been waiting for it for half a year and finally (some time ago) it appeared in my mailbox. Of course you are always nervous that a band that you've been excpecting releasing will dissapoint you. (mortification - The silver cord is severed, anyone?!) But I was pretty assured of that Mr. Rock wouldn't do that to me! And now I know he did not!

This could very well be the album of the year, from the start until the end we recieve splendid guitardriven heavy metal which will not leave any fans of that genre untouched. Produced by the legend Roy Z (Iron Maiden, Rob Halford etc) we here get a listening experience that once again proves the fact that Mr. Rob did the right decision when leaving Impellitteri for a solocareer.

The music could be descibed as fastdriven heavy metal with many solos (the sentenced 'many solos' gets a new meaning in the last song, but we'll return to that one later) and Rock&Z show that they are a dreamteam when coming to create interesting metal songs, none of them are boring and none sounds like the other. This is epic heavy metal.

But the most impressive things is to be found on the last track, 'The hour of dawn", a 12 minute epic track that for sure will blow you away, it starts as an usual atmospheric metal hymn (which at times reminds me of some stratovarius stuff found at the episode/visions era)and we would all be satiesfied with that, but wait there is more to come. It ends with a 4½ minute long guitarsolo, or should I said 16 different solos (some keyboard added as well)!!
Breathtaking stuff, here we get some of the finest guitarists out there(Simon Howie, Carl-Johan Grimmark,Axel Rudi Pell,Jack Frost to name some of them)delievering some awesome shreddings!!

Usually it's pretty difficult to make a long solo including different styles but here they fit perfectly!
If you don't get impressed by this, you probably don't like heavy metal and shouldn't been reading this long review. Just this song makes the disc worthy the 15euros (or whatever it costs).

And when talking about Roy Z. we know that the production is worldclass.

If you're in to Heavy metal, you don't have any excuses to not buy this album as your next one.
