Stryper - Against the law
|
This album is called against the law but it could have been named against
God, because every single trace of Stryper being a gospelsharing metal band has
dissapeared in to void. That is really sad because the music is still very good (not
as good as it was on THWTD and IGWT) but the lyrics are simply bad.
There is a couple of good songs here, but the feeling is gone, because at least I
want Stryper's music to draw me closer to God and not the opposite which is actually
possible when they even have included foul language here and there.
The music is much more heavier than it was on their previous releases and I think
the combination of this music and their usual lyrics could have resultet in a splendid
release. Sadly the lyrics spoils everything...
Michael has said that they did not want to write any God-centered lyrics because they
wanted to go their own way in life. Well the result is a mediocre release that won't
make many people happy, and more importantly, won't bring anyone to Christ.
