Virgin Black - Sombre Romantic

When you hear the words "christian", "metal" and "Australia", what do you think of? Wrong, not Mortification. Ladies and gentlemen, let me present one of the better goth bands to see the daylight, Virgin Black!

Virgin Black is one of the more known christian bands out there, thanks to their unique goth-inspired metal with influences taken from here and there.

Their lead singer reminds a bit of Eric (Saviour Machine) but not as charismatic and more melancholic(if that's possible). They also have some nice black vocals on some songs, that helps out to create an even darker atmosphere. Nice stuff!

If you're after happy music you better not check out Virgin Black because the melancholic atmosphere starts at the first second and lasts until the very last. This is a record for those rainy and gray days, when you're playing monopoly.

The musicians are all great, combining their skills to provide the stuff our hungry goth souls want. Specially Of Your Beauty, Drink The Midnight Hymn and Museum Of Iscariot are songs which will make your spine shiver.

The only complain I have on their debut is that not all of the songs are top quality, but they are not many.

With their unique sound it's a record you'll happily spend some hard earned money to have it in your collection.
